We cater for ORS students and also those students who require additional support with their learning. We provide extracurricular activities such as riding for the disabled, swimming, and life skills. Our focus is on inclusion and providing mainstream education for our students. We have a large team of teacher aids that work within the Learning Support Centre and also support the mainstream (school) classes. Our senior students earn credits from the supported learning program.
Learning Support at Opihi College is a great place to teach in. I enjoy watching students learn and grow from the experiences we offer them. I am passionate about ensuring that students are included in all aspects of school life.

Kōwhai House houses our Learning Support Department - a purpose built facility with full kitchen, accessible bathroom and separate fenced outdoor area, plus breakout spaces for the students to work. We welcome visitors anytime to see our amazing students in action.
